2012 NCCC167 Meeting March 14-15, 2012 Doubletree Hotel, 1000 Multnomah St., Portland, Oregon LINKS: Meeting invitation Meeting details Registration: Registration fees will be $150 per scientist and $100 per student. Registration includes breakfast, lunch, and session breaks on both days. Registration information can be found on the NCCC167 website (see NCCC167 website below). Attendees may download a registration form or follow the online registration link to register with a credit card (online is preferred). Early registration deadline is February 14. Registration after February 14 (including onsite) will be $200 per scientist and $150 per student. Program: Dr. Jeffrey Ross-Ibarra, UC Davis, has been invited to make a special presentation entitled “ Genome-Wide View of Breeding History and Selection in North American Maize”. Volunteered 30-minute talks will be presented on Wednesday, March 14 beginning at 8:30 AM. An open discussion will be held on Thursday, March 15 from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Ambridge Event Center, 1333 NE Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.., Portland, OR. Attendees are encouraged to email program chair with suggested discussion topics relevant to Corn Breeding (jode.edwards@ars.usda.gov). The NCCC167 business meeting will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 15. Volunteered presentations : Attendees are encouraged to share their current research with an oral presentation. Oral presentations should be a maximum of 25 minutes in length (followed by 5 minutes for questions). Please try to allow as much time for discussion as possible. If you wish to make a presentation please submit an abstract to Jode Edwards (jode.edwards@ars.usda.gov) by February 14. Please see the NCCC167 website (below) for Abstract formatting guidelines. The student presenting the best oral presentation will be awarded the Larry Darrah Student Presentation Award. Lodging: Attendees may reserve rooms at the same rate as the Maize Genetics Conference (being held at the same venue March 15-18) rate of $124 per night for March 13 and 14 at the Doubletree Hotel, 1000 NE Multnomah St., Portland, Oregon. ABSTRACT FORMATTING: Abstracts should contain title, authors, author institution affiliations, and text. All text should be 12-point New Times Roman and left justified. Please include all authors in the form last name, first name followed by a numerical footnote to indicate insititutional affiiliation. Include asterisk after following the presenting authors name. List institutionas with footnotes following authors. Abstrats will be posted on the website following the February 14 deadline. Please adhere to formatting guidelines to assist with compilation of abstracts. See 2011 abstracts for example format. |
